Decaffeination


Coffee beans naturally contain caffeine, a natural stimulant.

If decaffeinated coffee is desired, the beans are sent through a decaffeination process before roasting. Steaming and/or chemical rinsing are used to remove the caffeine from the beans before grinding and roasting.

Here is a water-only decaffeination process, presented in a cheesy manner
