Shipping Coffee

Shipping

Of course, after the beans have been processed, they need some way to make it over to the States for coffee drinkers to enjoy. After the coffee beans have been harvested and processed, they are shipped for further preparation. They can be stored for up to one year, if the beans are packaged in jute sacks and kept in cool, dark and dry warehouses.

When the time comes for shipment, the beans are moved onto ships and held there in one of three ways:

1. loose in the hold of the ship
2. in shipping containers
3. in jute sacks.

The preferred method is the transport in sacks, since transportation of loose beans whether in containers or the hold can lead to fermentation, or the absorption of odors from other crops shipped along with the coffee beans.

  1. A wholesale coffee distributor should definitely know all the in's and out's of coffee production and preparation as they're one of the most reliable sources for consumers and retailers. Wholesale coffee distributors, with a broad knowledge on everything about coffee, can guarantee a delivery of only the best beans.

It goes without saying that wholesale coffee suppliers should do their part in promoting the industry so that they'll continue to supply beans of the highest quality.
